Alberta Artistic Swimming is the non-profit, provincial sport organization for artistic swimming. Our mission is to lead and develop people in the sport of artistic swimming that aligns with our values of collaboration, excellence, innovation, and integrity.
We’re looking for a number of passionate individuals who are interested in joining the board of directors for the 2022-2024 term. This year we have 3 Director-at-large positions (2 year term) available. We are eager to see representation on the board that reflects the diversity of our province and includes individuals from a variety of geographic regions of Alberta.
Nominees may not hold an employment or contractor position with Alberta Artistic Swimming. Nominees will be recruited and recommended by the Nominating Committee to stand for election based upon their demonstrated ability to contribute significantly to the leadership of Alberta Artistic Swimming. Nominees should have core competencies to serve as a Board member and at least two years previous experience on a volunteer Board. In addition, the Nominating Committee has identified these specific core competencies as a priority to address some gaps for the Alberta Artistic Swimming Board as follows.
- Accounting and/or financial management knowledge or expertise;
- Risk management expertise;
- Human Resources expertise;
- Equity, Diversity and Inclusion knowledge and expertise; and
- Demonstrated leadership skills in non-profit or other endeavours.
