Leaders of Tomorrow Awards presented by ATCO
ATCO is proud to present the Leaders of Tomorrow awards and recognize the youths who give their time and effort to enhance their communities throughout the South Peace Region.
The Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau is looking to recognize volunteer superstars between the ages of 13 to 18, living in Grande Prairie and area, as the next Leaders of Tomorrow! Individuals, community groups, educational institutions, and voluntary organizations are all invited to nominate a young individual who deserve recognition for their commitment and leadership in assisting others.
This Year’s Awards will recognize youths in 4 categories:
LEADERSHIP AWARD - Will be Awarded to a youth who takes on a leadership role to bring about positive change to their school or community. The nominee will demonstrate responsibility and drive, as well as initiative in starting new projects and programs.
VOLUNTEER AWARD - Will be Awarded to a youth who is truly selfless and dedicated to helping others. Through not necessarily in a leadership role, the nominee has shown commitment to bettering their community by volunteering their time to a cause they are passionate about.
ADVOCACY AWARD - Will be Awarded to a youth who commits time and energy lending their voice to a cause to bring about change. To receive this award, the nominee demonstrates passion and conviction.
PERSEVERANCE AWARD - Will be Awarded to a youth who has prevailed over adversity or an obstacle in their life to help others. The nominee will overcome challenges and demonstrate inner strength and perseverance.

The perfect nominees are those: Dedicated to Helping the Community; That Have A Fearless Approach; That Strive for Inclusion; Who Continuously Volunteer; That Have Endless Patience; Who Think Creatively; Who Are Eager to Take the Initiative; Who Are Driven by Passion; Who Work Well with Others; Who Inspire & Encourage Volunteerism; & Interested in Enhancing their Leadership Skills.
Award recipients are chosen by a Selection Committee made up of representatives from the presenting sponsor ATCO, the regional participating FCSS offices, and the Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau. When reviewing the nomination packages, we look for things like diversity of involvement, amount of time spent volunteering, creativity of volunteerism, demonstration of leadership and how the nominee inspires the spirit of volunteerism in others. When completing a nomination package, we suggest that you consult with your nominee to find out where else they are volunteering so that you are submitting a complete perspective of the youth's volunteer efforts. Awardees will receive a Leaders of Tomorrow Awards trophy, a certificate, a cash award of $100, and a $100 donation to the charity of their choice. The Awards will be presented at a event to be determined.
