Gerald Bergeson nominated by Elders Caring Shelter Society

Elders Caring Shelter Society nominates Gerald Bergeson for Tim Hortons Volunteers of the Week! They wrote ‘Gerald Bergeson is a resident at the Elders Caring Shelter. He carves leather indigenous crafts for the elders Caring Shelter, donates them to the shelter, and we sell them at our fundraising events to raise money for the Shelter. He deserves to be recognized for Volunteering to make leather crafting for us to sell and keep the money. This has helped our organization to raise much needed money for the operations of the Shelter. He has been doing this for the past several years for the Shelter. Volunteering to make the crafts for the shelter is doing a couple of great things. 1) He is helping to raise money for the Shelter to keep the doors open for homeless Elders that live here, and 2) He is helping the community by displaying his Indigenous artwork proudly is a part of Reconciliation and we know that is a huge part of moving forward for indigenous people. He spends hours and hours making beautiful leather crafting. He donates all of his money made from crafts to the homeless shelter. Mr. Bergeson deserves recognition for the volunteer hours he puts in to give back to our community.’
